Thea Wood President, Podcast Host

Thea Wood President, Podcast Host

Thea Wood’s zest for a great live music and empowering women have come together in the form of the Backstage Chats Foundation. And she’s celebrating!

As a journalist by education and profession since the 1990s, Thea’s experience spans from interviewing artists, managing print publications, to launching the first Music Channel at America Online, to moderating celebrity online chats, to television appearances, to publishing an international digital magazine and e-book, to being the opening speaker for the first TEDx Talk at the University of Texas.

Thea said it’s now time to “shift back and give back” to the music that has brought joy, healing, and grace to her life. By hosting the podcast “Backstage Chats With Women In Music” that features female music makers and their personal stories, Thea strives to promote gender harmony in an industry she believes has the power to unite us all.

Eleanor Bennett Production Manager

Eleanor Bennett Production Manager

Eleanor Bennett is an independent podcast producer and radio journalist. Eleanor fell in love with the medium while interning at Aspen Public Radio. From there, she moved to New York where she covered issues of climate justice and women’s empowerment for SiriusXM Radio.

She recently finished a project interviewing hundreds of New Yorkers from all walks of life for the global photographer, JR. Her interviews will be used as part of an audio-visual installation going up in the Brooklyn Museum in Fall 2019. Her latest endeavor is, “Questions I’ve Never Asked” – a new podcast about getting to know the interior life of her mother, Janie Joseland Bennett. The story begins with Janie’s childhood growing up on a cattle station alongside the Pitjantjatjara community in the remote Australian outback. As a young woman, Eleanor is determined to develop a new canon of work from the perspective of women from all walks of life. As the Production Manager for Backstage Chats, Eleanor is excited to be part of a team devoted to elevating the powerful voices of women in the music industry.
